Gaels Rout RMC 93-45

Six Gaels reached double digits as Queen's completed a perfect weekend thrashing Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) 93-45 on Saturday night. The Gaels who used a 24-7 fourth quarter to comeback and defeat visiting Carleton 69-64 Friday night were the better team against the Paladins right from the opening tip. Queen's outscored RMC 19-7 in the first quarter and went into halftime with a 44-30 lead.

In the second half the Gaels tightened up defensively and held the Paladins to just 15 second half points which included seven from the foul line. Queen's held their cross town rivals to just eight points from the field as they ran their record to 7-10, six points ahead of fifth place Carleton and Ryerson.

All 10 on the Gaels roster scored, with six players scoring double figures. Leading the way for Queen's was rookie Alaina Porter of Burlington, Ont. who scored 15 points with fellow freshman Brittany Moore of Hannon, Ont. scoring 14. Veterans Sarah Barnes of St. Catharines, Ont., and Anne Murphy of Milford, Ont., both scored 12, while rookie Christine Wallace of North Gower, Ont. had 11 points and Erin Skippon of Kelowna, B.C. scored 10.

The Gaels next home game is this Tuesday at 6pm at the Physical Education Centre in Bartlett Gym when they host the Ottawa Gee Gees.
