Good start not enough for Gaels to tame Lions

We got off to a great start in the ball game, effectively pressuring York into turnovers or tough shots. Our offensive execution was also decent, allowing us to build an 18-11 first quarter lead. Unfortunately, that was pretty much the end of our success. We were unable to sustain the pressure and level of execution that had made us successful, surrendering 19 points to our 10 in the second quarter. York stretched their two point half-time lead to 7 in the third, outscoring us 17-12. York continued to pound the ball into their posts in the fourth and pulled away, scoring 21 points to our 12.

Anne Murphy was the only Q's player in double figures with 17 points. Teddi Firmi did haul down 8 boards while dishing out 5 assists.
