Badgers use overtime to defeat Gaels
Queen's 53 Brock 51 (OT)

By Dave Wilson

First of all - credit to a well-coached Brock team that did all the things they needed to do to win. Playing solid defense they encouraged us to commit a Guinness Book of World Records-worthy 39 turnovers and deflected even more passes. Our shooting was mediocre at best, but managed only 52 shots in the overtime lengthened game. None-the-less, we held a four point lead with less than 2 minutes to go in regulation. In the remaining time, Brock managed to free up their best player for a 3-pointer to cut the lead to 1. We got two of those back on foul shots, before fouling another Brock player. She managed to hit the first free throw to close the gap to two, before missing her second free throw. Brock managed to secure the rebound amongst a scrum, which also led to a Queen's foul. Brock sank both free throws to tie the game and send it to overtime. Unable to find the hoop, we didn't score a field goal in the overtime, converting only two foul shots. One bright spot, Jaime Dale had a career high, 22 points, but was the only Gael to reach double figures.
