Fourth quarter burst propels Gaels past Nazareth College of Rochester, NY.
Queen's 53 Nazareth 34

It looked more like a hockey score than a basketball game for the first 5 minutes of the game with us holding a shutout, while managing 6 points of our own. In the next 5 minutes would only score 4 more points, while giving up 6 to lead 10-6 at the quarter. The lid on the rims lifted a little in the second quarter as we traded baskets, eventually outscoring Nazareth 16-14 to go into the break with a 26-20 lead. (half time stats were not available)
The third quarter proved to be sloppy on both sides, with neither team able to find the range. Fifteen points were scored in the 10 minute stanza - 8 by Nazareth. The fourth quarter saw a gradual build as time ticked down. By the final horn we had dropped 20 points and only gave up 6 for the 53-34 win. Alaina Porter (Burlington, ON) finished with 13 points and 5 boards. Erin Skippon (Kelowna, BC) had 9 points and 7 boards.
